ADOPT A CEMETERY PROGRAM

Anyone who wants to express their appreciation for the sacrifices made by our veterans has the opportunity to do so through the Adopt a Cemetery Program. Each year near Memorial Day over 2800 small flags on placed on veteran's graves by various groups. These include various patriotic organizations and groups such as Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Even some families volunteer together. Many families say it a wonderful history lesson for their children and look forward to it each year. Some of the Scout groups have broken up, yet the leaders continue doing it with their families. The flags are placed on the graves the Wednesday before Memorial Day and removed by the Wednesday after. The flags, maps, and list of names are furnished for you, so all you need to supply is the time. If there are groups or families that would be interested in being a part of the Adopt a Cemetery Program, please contact co-chairpersons Dan or Sue Kaszuba at 847-742-3696.
